Obituary for John Capobianco

John Paul Capobianco, a native of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15th, at the age of 87. John served as a paratrooper during the Korean War and subsequently was a member the New York City Police Department for over 3 decades. While in the NYPD, he attained the rank of Detective First Grade, earning several commendations. John is survived by his wife of 43 years (Pauline “Lee” Dante), 3 children (Philip, Paula and Rosalinda), 3 grandchildren (Nicolina, Vincent and Bianca Rose), his brother Paul and his sister Rosemarie (Nevins), in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. John loved his country, God and his family, and will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be Sunday August 20th from 3pm to 7pm at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester, NY. A funeral Mass will take place Monday August 21st at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
