Making Lasagna

Even though there are so many memories and stories that I can tell, I feel this one ties together all of his influences on me. First, there wasn't a day that he did not enter my office without a receipe or a joke. We would talk of food, always. So, being the person he was, I invited him to come to my house to make butternut squash lasagna. He came in, got right to work, made my daughter, who at the time had to stand on a chair to see the counter, feel like she was the most important person in the room. We finished, and to this day, every time we make that lasagna for thanksgiving, my daughter remembers "Coach", helping us that day. By the way, she is now 20, and still brings that story up. I will always remember his smile, contagious positive attitude, and the fact that I had the privilage to treat him, and learn from him. He will, without a doubt, go down as one of my favorite people who I have had the pleasure of meeting in my life. My God bless him and his family.
