Every morning as a junior camper at Knight's Day Camp, my day started with a rousing "All Righty, heads up!" as Uncle Wally called the day to order and got rambunctious campers to settle down with the legendary deer antler hand sign. (I use it now and then and always remember Uncle Wally with a smile.) You always knew it was going to be a great day with Uncle Wally around. He was combination authority figure and kindly uncle who made sure the campers were cared for. Even as a senior camper, it was comforting to see Uncle Wally at the end of the day, helping everyone get on the right bus for the trip home. I was glad to see him a couple of years ago at our KDC reunion, and will always remember him fondly.
