Walter M. Stanton Sr. of Tuckahoe, NY, passed away on May 30, 2015. Born on August 23, 1931 in Queens, NY, he was the son of Walter J. Stanton and Helen B. Stanton. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1954, he married Mary T. O''Malley and celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 15th. Walter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and over the course of his lifetime gave of himself in so many ways, including years of service at St. Raymond''s Parish, Bronx, NY, Cardinal Spellman High School, Knights Day Camp (Upper Saddle River, NJ), and Immaculate Conception Church and School, Tuckahoe. He was always involved in what was important to his children and grandchildren. Walter''s career began as a Physical Education Instructor, and included owning a school transportation company in NYC, before becoming a Corporate Chauffer. He is survived by his wife Mary, children Walter Jr. (Ann), Theresa Rodesky-McCarthy (William), Christine Brogan, and granddaughters Elizabeth and Kathryn Rodesky, Megan and Carrie Brogan, and step-grandson Luke McCarthy (Kate). He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Robert Rodesky. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at The Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., Eastchester, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 65 Winter Hill Rd., Tuckahoe, NY. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
