Obituary for Steven Rocco Leone

Steven (Steve) Rocco Leone, 64, currently of Bedford Hills, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on August 29, 1959, and grew up in Eastchester, NY. He graduated from Eastchester High School in 1977. Steve was the sole proprietor of Leone Contracting from 1985 to 1993. In August of 1993, he began his 20+ year career as construction manager at Gracious Home in NYC. In more recent years, he went back to private contracting, Leone One LLC, working mostly in Westchester. Steve and Terrie (Francella) were married on January 23, 1983, recently celebrating 41 years of marriage. They moved to Tuckahoe in 1986, and lived on Cedar Street for 32 years, before moving to Bedford Hills in 2018. They were blessed with three children; Steven (Natalya), Megan (Anthony), and Zachary (Kelly), as well as 4 beloved grandchildren - Isabella, Joseph, Olivia, and Enzo.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Rocco Leone and Carol (Saviano) Leone, as well as brothers Michael and Peter Leone. He is survived by his brother Joe (Kathy) of Pompano Beach, FL, and his sister Cori of Yonkers.
Steve was an extremely talented contractor, with a flair for building, and loved the work he did. He was happiest when in the middle of a project. He fulfilled one of his life ambitions when he built his family cabin in the woods with the help of his closest friends and family. Prior to building their family home upstate, Steve spent his free time with his family; camping, coaching TYA baseball, summers showing off on the diving board at Lake Isle, and vacationing at the shore. He was a life-long dedicated Miami Dolphins fan.
In most recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who loved their Poppy dearly. Recently retired, he was looking forward to getting out on the golf course. Steve was a dependable and selfless man, who would stop everything to help someone. From Tuckahoe to Bedford Hills, he was a reliable neighbor and made a positive impact on his neighborhood. He taught his children strength and honesty, and to be glad for life’s simple pleasures, like drinking a hot cup of coffee and watching a beautiful sunrise.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Sunday, April 7, 2024, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Mass, Monday April 8, 2024 at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Kisco. In Steve’s passing, his family was honored that he was able to become an organ donor. Steve will provide a rare and beautiful gift for others; the gift of life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Live On NY Foundation, https://www.liveonny.org/donate/donation/
