Ragnar “Ron” E. Sjonvall, 84, of Eastchester New York passed away peacefully January 25, 2022. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Ragnar F. and Adeline Sjonvall. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sharon and his daughter, Janine Sjonvall of Blackrock Ct, sons Douglas (Annie) of Howell, NJ, Jonathan (Lisa) of Palm Coast, Fl and cherished grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Andrew, Alison and Ella Jaeger and Jaxon and Harper Sjonvall. Ron graduated from A.B. Davis High School and attended Concordia Jr. College and Valparaiso University with a degree in Chemistry. He served 7 years with the Army Reserve. Ron worked for General Foods for 18 years and then was self-employed as a distributor for Cee Gee candy. Ron was an avid sports fan. The New York Yankees, the New York Rangers and the Indianapolis Colts were his favorites. He was a golf enthusiast playing anytime he could, watched any golf tournament on TV and volunteered for the major PGA tours that came to the area. Ron loved to scratch…lottery tickets that is. In his mind, every ticket should be a winner. “Ron”, “Rags”, “Dad”, “Pa” were all names he answered to with heartwarming pride. He will be missed by many families and friends from here to Sweden and Japan and all points in between. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 30, 2022 from 3 - 7 PM at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Eastchester. A religious service will take place at 6 PM. Interment will take place on Monday January 31, 2022 at the Kensico Cemetery at 10 AM.
