Paul Angelo  Romeo
Paul Angelo Romeo, of Mount Vernon, passed away on October 21, 2018 at the age of 91.
He was the last surviving child of Louise and Angelo of Mount Vernon (Fleetwood). His sisters Marie, Gloria and Dorothy predeceased him. His beloved wife of 55 years, Gloria DeMeo, passed in 2004.
Paul graduated high school in Mount Vernon and then enlisted as a Seaman First Class on the US Navy battleship, USS Colorado serving in the Pacific during the final year of WWII as a 40 mm gunner. He then worked as a mechanic and then began a 30-year career as a trucker with Anchor Motor Freight, which transported new autos from the GM plant in Tarrytown, NY throughout the Northeast Region. He earned the “million mile” safety designation several times.
He is survived by his two sons Paul J. (Brewster, NY) and David (Reno, NV) and his beagle companion, “Lucky”.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Monday, October 29, 2018, 2-5pm. Prayer service Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 10:00 am at Westchester Funeral Home.
