Michele Sollecito, 82, of Bronxville died on November 15, 2012. Beloved husband of Elena Recine Sollecito. Loving father of Anna (Tony) Marrone, Rocco (Paige) Sollecito, Lucy Sollecito, Vencine Conboy, and Elaine (Richard) Zaccone. Cherished grandfather of Laurie (Michael) Parisi, TJ, Christopher, and Robyn Marrone, Kaitlyn, Michael, and Thomas Sollecito, Thomas, Michael, and Annabelle Conboy, Nicholas and Miranda Rose Zaccone. His first great grandchild is on the way. Dear brother of the late Isabella, Lucrezia, Luigi, Eugenia, Donata, and Giuseppe.
Michele was born on September 3, 1930 to Rocco and Anna Finelli Sollecito in Grumo Appula, Bari, Italy. He came to the US in 1954 with his wife where together they built a wonderful family and he worked tirelessly to achieve the American Dream. He truly was a self-made man. Michele was a construction executive and builder for 60 years, and a master iron worker. He loved to have his family and friends around him, and was most fulfilled being amidst the happy chaos. He was the epitome of a devoted family man, larger than life, and the center of all our happiness.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER, Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Requiem Mass Monday November 19th at St. Anthony Church, Richardson Ave, Bronx, NY at 10AM. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
