Obituary for Louise Montclare (Castaldi)

Louise Montclare of Scarsdale, New York passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2012 at the age of 93. Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Louise graduated from Hunter college at the age of 19 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, had a successful career as a businesswoman and taught high school biology at Eastchester High School for 25 years. After her retirement from teaching, she began a career in journalism at the age of 65, where she served as editor-in-chief for 7 newspapers in Westchester owned by the Martinelli chain. She was the winner of numerous awards for competitive ballroom dancing well into her 80's,and hosted a local interview and call-in radio talk show at WVOX until her death. She was a mentor, friend and inspiration to those who knew her and to everyone whose lives she touched. She is survived by her sons, Sandy, Paul and Joseph Montclare, their wives, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will take place on Friday September 28, 2012 from 3 to 5 PM at the Westchester Funeral Home,Inc. Eastchester, NY.
