Joseph “Gennaro” Carannante, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of March 29, 2020. He was a long time resident of Yonkers, NY. Joseph was born January 3, 1937 in Naples, Italy to the late Antonio and Emma Carannante.

He is survived by his wife Damiana and was a devoted father to Rocco (Lauren) Rutigliano, Ralph (Veronica) Rutigliano, Joseph (Gina) Rutigliano, and MaryAnn (Jamie) Hafer. He’s the cherished grandfather of Giulia, Sophia, Cristina, Antonio, Rocco, Lorenzo, Emma and Olivia. He was a loving brother, beloved brother-in-law and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph was a long time employee of Stella D’Oro. He lived his life dedicated to his love of family and was proud to put his family first. He had a passion for soccer and gardening. He will always be remembered by those whose lives he touched daily.

Due to the present situation we are all going through, we are unable to have a traditional funeral. We thank all those who would have wanted to pay their respects. A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor his life. Memorials are suggested to the American Liver Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
