In doing research for a column on 1/18/11, I found a reason to do a search for your dad and discovered he had left us last year. He and your mother were wonderful to me when I was a beginning journalist 40 years ago. Your dad and I had stayed in touch from time to time and we had spoken several times since his move to the Berkshires. I've been with The Journal News for 38 years now. Bbairdcolumnist@aol.com
