John F. Gallagher, 88, born in the village of Carrigart, County Donegal, Ireland and longtime resident of Tuckahoe, NY died on April 18, 2012. John was the beloved husband of Mary Gallagher for 62 years. Devoted father of John (Brenda), Denis (Maria), Brian, and Ted, and much loved grandfather of Brian (Anne), Kaitlin, Keith, Krista, John (Stephanie), Sean and Steven (Mary). Brother of Jim Gallagher.
He and Mary were parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church and longtime members of the Eastchester Irish American Club. John was a founder of the Tuckahoe Youth Association in the early 1960's. A lifelong avid golfer, in his younger days a talented gaelic footballer, and great appreciator of Shakespeare and classic poetry. John will be missed by his many friends.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Friday 4-8 PM. Requiem Mass Saturday April 21st at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:30AM.
