Condolences & Tributes

I worked with Jean when she first came to New York at the Irish Tourist Board and met her at many travel events throughout the years. I was greatly saddened by the news of her death and send condolences to her two children, who unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of meeting.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Purcell & McCluskey families, especially Kevin & Sarah at this very difficult time. Jean was such a great help to me when I came to the US and we remained friends long after our work connections ceased. She can now rejoin Frank and her mum & dad to live happily ever after. May she rest in peace.

So very sad to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Jean. We had so many happy times together in our early days in New York as she introduced us to a wonderful group of ‘Irish Girls’. We were honored to have her as part of our tiny wedding party 40 years ago and we were even more thrilled to attend Jean and Frank’s gorgeous wedding in Ireland a few years later. Despite the ‘tyranny of distance’ we remained good friends, catching up in New York from time to time and over many (long) late night phone conversations and lots of laughs. We will miss her presence in our lives and regret we were never able to have her visit us in Australia as planned. Sending much love to Kevin and Sarah, two very special people who we know made their Mum so proud. xx
