It is with profound sadness we announce the death of Helmut Boling, 71, of Mount Vernon, New York on 12/31/22. He was attended to by family and friends before his departure to eternal peace.
He is survived by his daughter Carole Boling, son Robert Boling, grandchildren Charlotte Lally and Savannah Lally, brothers Roy Boling and Kurt Boling and former wife Geraldine Boling (Rescigno). He was predeceased by father Robert Boling, mother Charlotte Boling (Goetze) and sister Karen Boling.
Helmut was born October 27, 1951 in Linz, Austria and migrated with his mother to the US at the age of two beginning his lifelong residency in Mount Vernon. He served with distinction for the U.S. Navy from 1969-1971 during the height of the Vietnam War. He was employed by the US Postal Service for over 30 years before retiring in 2013.
Helmut loved sports and excelled at baseball and basketball in his youth. He enjoyed playing fantasy football and spending time with his family and friends in recreational activities. His greatest joy upon retirement was doting on his grandchildren, babysitting and taking them to the park.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 between the hours of 4-8pm at the Westchester Funeral Home located at 190 Main Street, Eastchester, NY 10707. All are welcome to attend.
