Giuseppe Celso, 76, of Crestwood, NY died on September 11, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was a devoted family man in the truest sense. Giuseppe provided for his family by working six days a week for over 45 years at Hughes Ironworks in the Bronx and Yonkers, NY. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching soccer, and Saturday morning shopping on Arthur Avenue. Giuseppe’s favorite pastime was conversing with family and friends while enjoying a cup of espresso.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Luisa (Federici) Celso; his son, Pasquale Celso, his daughter Angela M. Celso-McGurk; his son-in-law, Major Kevin J. McGurk, and his grandchildren, Gabriella N. Celso, Liam J. McGurk, Natalie M. Celso, Marc J. Celso, Michael J. Celso, and Olivia G. McGurk. Giuseppe’s father, Pasquale Celso, his mother, Maria Gaetana Sosso Celso, and his brother, Gabrielle Celso, predeceased him.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday, September 15th, 4-8:00PM, at Westchester Funeral Home 190 Main Street, Eastchester, NY 10709. A funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation Church 470 Westchester Ave Crestwood, NY 10707 on Thursday, September 16th, at 10:00AM, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery Webster Ave. and East 233rd St. Bronx.
