Condolence From: Ann E. Naughton
Condolence: Edie was one of the first ladies I met @ the Scarsdale Woman's Club. She enthusiastically encouraged me to join the Garden section and to create arrangements and tables. She also was an involved member of our investment club....She kept us apprised of her cancer and fought it bravely. Whenever she could, she attended our meetings even when she wasn't feeling well. Edie even found my son his first apt. in Fleetwood. He loved that apt. as he soon was married. Edie had a true appreciation for beauty and good sense. She had great style and will be missed by me and others @ the club. anaug67171@aol.com

Condolence: Aunt Edie accomplished so much in her life. She also fought a tough battle these past few years. I am fondly remembering all the special things she did for me. My thoughts and prayers now go out to Uncle Dom, cousins Noel & Robert and their families as they try to become accustomed to missing Edith DeGaetano. warmly, Marie & Mark Belanich and families

Condolence From: Lynn Lane
Condolence: I am deeply saddened about the passing of my precious godmother. Aunt Edie was an amazing woman and I was fortunate to have her in my life. It was obvious to all what a beautiful marriage she and Uncle Dom shared and how her loving family - Robert, Noel, Deanna, Noah, Kira, Alan, Tymaya and Joaquin were the lights of her life.
I will never forget her kindness and her laughter. It was so entertaining to see her enthusiasm when looking at a gorgeous pink peony or orchid and say, " Now THAT just makes me so HAPPY!" I loved coming away from a visit to her house with a precious clipping of a plant that I would attempt to nurture. I would try imitate her ability for making living things thrive.......but she did not just have a knack for it---it was truly a divine gift. She would often say, "Don't worry, I am going to tell you how to get that orchid to bloom again" and then have the patience again to impart her words of experience.

She always led the way and kept on going. Her vigor was to be envied. The last time we visited her she was busy pulling weeds in the garden- never mind the scratches she gave herself on the leg. Completely inconsequential. Her oomph for life and her passion for all of her varied interests is the standard on how to live life to the fullest. She and Uncle Dom traveled the world and have many stories of their incredible journeys.

I will cherish forever the beautiful baby blanket she spent the last several months knitting for my 15 month old son. She persevered and created a masterpiece of glorious colors and animals that is my son's favorite possession and will be a family heirloom. So much love time and patience went into its creation. I hope the precious memories will bring Uncle Dom and the family some comfort I am so sorry that they have to endure this loss. She will live forever in our hearts. Lynn and Sean Lane, & baby Sean.
