Hurricane Sandy

Charlotte and I met 3 years ago when I moved next door to her. She greeted me so warmly and we Fast became friends. During Hurricane Sandy we had no electricity, heat or hot water for 11 days. I think it was much more of a problem for me than it was for Charlotte. We hung out a lot together those 11 days. Me leaning on her strength more than her leaning on me.one night after about 9 or 10 days of this Charlotte invited me in for a glass of wine. For 3 years I heard her play her grand piano but she never played for me. As I sat in the dark living room with only a small candle lighting the room she asked me What would you like to hear? I replied how about My Funny Valentine. Well she started playing it like I never heard it before, I just sat there amazed. With tears coming down my cheeks, I was thinking how lucky am I to be here..... I will miss Charlotte dearly. She was such an inspiration to me. May she rest in peace.
