Obituary for Carmine Masucci

Carmine Masucci
Carmine was a proud first-generation Italian-American and lifelong New York resident born on January 29, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Antonio and Luigia (Capozzi) Masucci. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Donato Masucci, and sister Margaret (Masucci) Chirco. Carmine is survived by his daughters, MaryLou (Brian) Rothfuss, Melinda (Michael) DiNapoli; grandchildren, Ian Rothfuss, Todd Rothfuss (Katie Lee), Michael DiNapoli III, and Meredith (Ryan) Sussman; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Rothfuss, Jocelyn Rothfuss, and Christopher Sussman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carmine was the first member of his family to attend college, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York, and completed postgraduate education at the Polytechnic Institute of New York. He served as the historian of the Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association.
Carmine served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war, he married Carmela Marie “Millie” Greco. They moved to Eastchester, NY and raised their two daughters in their home on Hickory Hill Road. Hickory Hill and Eastchester were a great place to raise their family. Carmine resided in the same house, living independently until his death, but that could not have happened without the support of his caring next door neighbors of 68 years. Carmine attended Immaculate Conception Church. Eastchester is a close-knit community that he was always proud to call home.
Carmine was an accomplished electrical engineer, holds multiple patents, and worked closely with the aeronautics industry, space program, and defense and intelligence communities during his career with CBS Laboratories, RCA, Siemens, Cardion, Hartman, and many other companies. Upon retirement, Carmine enjoyed traveling to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Tues 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday May 17, at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
