Obituary for Caitlin Jamie Cullinan

From the very beginning, Cait was our Angel and now she truly is one. What can you say about an Angel who was taken from this world much too soon? First, to know Cait was to love her. She was the most generous and caring person you would have ever met. She loved her family, her friends, her pets, Ireland, and her sister Ceara above all. Her personality was very eccentric, but her eccentricity was one of her greatest charms.

She was artistically talented and created the most breath-taking pieces. Unlike most artists who can only paint or draw, Cait could work in many mediums. Give her a hunk of clay or even fondant for a cake, and she would hand you a masterpiece. Cait’s talents were many, but she was her own hardest critic. Though all were in awe of her artistic abilities, she always worked to “make it perfect”. She wanted to catch the twinkle in her subject’s eye or the wisdom of their face. Her art was part of who she was, and she only wanted to give her best in everything she did.

She was very opinionated but always able to back up her thoughts and beliefs. She was an advocate for those in need and the less fortunate. She always wanted things to be fair and just and wanted to help make the world a better place.

Cait had a child-like goodness and always saw the best in people and assumed the best of others. Being from a large family, she was always surrounded by cousins who “got” Cait, understood her unique personality, and loved her for the amazing person she was. With her younger cousins, Cait was never too busy to spend time playing a game, watching a movie, sharing a book or just talking to them. She had a way of making people feel special. That was just one of her many gifts.

Cait loved Halloween! It was, by far, her favorite holiday. She planed out the theme each year and would come up with the perfect decorations for both inside and outside the house. This was a month-long celebration of all things scary that even included a Halloween play list for those trips to pick up Pumpkin Lattes.

For the past two years, Cait worked as a barista at Starbucks. She loved to come home and regale her family with stories of her day. She met so many incredible people and many shared a piece of themselves with her. Cait’s caring heart allowed others to open up and impart stories of their lives during their daily visits to get their caffeine fix.

Cait always cared deeply for people, regardless of how different they were from her. Her values were always about standing up for those who were unprotected or underrepresented. She was also incredibly generous and could make you feel special with a kind word or thoughtful gesture given out of pure love or friendship.

She was known for her quick wit/sarcasm, her contagious laugh, and her kind and compassionate spirit. When she laughed the entire room laughed. She was truly one of a kind!

Cait was an enormous fan of Marvel and the Marvel Universe and had an extensive collection of Iron Man memorabilia.

Cait is survived by her father, Patrick Cullinan, her mother, Geraldine (Gerri) Cassidy Cullinan, her adoring sister, Ceara Cullinan, her Aunt Judy, and dozens of cousins, aunts and uncles. We are forever heartbroken.

Cait, you are our Angel! We love you 3000!

My heart is very heavy with deep sadness. Caitlin was one of the most talented students. The beauty feeling that she could bring out in a piece of artwork was absolutely amazing. God bless her soul. May God bring consolation to all family and friends.

Our beautiful and talented Caitlin - Heaven has welcomed an angel. I was privileged to get to know Caitlin in her middle school years as her TMS teacher. Recently we reconnected in her capacity as a barista...still the same smile, the same laugh. My deepest condolences to her family. May Caitlin's memory bring blessings always. Anne Richter
