Condolences

Condolence From: Toni Teseny
Condolence: Hello Joyce, Nancy and Richard,
My name is Toni Teseny and I too am a 1st cousin of Sandy. My father William Teseny was Sandy's uncle - the brother of Sandy's mom "Aunt Goldie". I always loved Sandy and am sad we drifted apart.
Please - all of you - please contact me as I know so little about the family and would like to know how I am related to Nancy and Richard.
Joyce, it has been many years since we lost contact. I am so sorry for your loss and I am sure it must be a difficult time for you. Please feel free to contact me if you like.
Love to all of you,
Toni Teseny

Condolence: Dear Joyce,

I was very sad to hear of Sandy's death. He was truly a wonderful and dedicated musician. You and he gave us so much beautiful music at the Reformed Church during the Schuller years.

Condolence: Dear Joyce, I am grieving with you the loss of Sandy, a wonderful friend and long-time colleague for me, treasured life partner for you. He embodied the ideal professional and true mensch in our Met Orchestra. His love of music, high artistic standards, and cooperative attitude were highly valued in our 1st violin section. And how can I not mention his contributions as committee chairman over the course of 8 consecutive contracts!? His well-reasoned and even-tempered leadership were invaluable to our group over the span of decades. We will all miss him, you most of all. Sending you strength and love from Lanny and myself.

Condolence From: Gabriel Tevan
Condolence: Dear Joyce,

I was very saddened to learn about the sudden and unexpected death of Sandor Balint. My condolences to yourself and to your family.

I will always treasure our performance collaborations that we have shared together over the years, which was such an honor for myself and my orchestra to be a part of. I also greatly enjoyed watching and listening to your performances with Sandor at the Tarrytown Music Hall and at The Bronxville Womens' Club. One of the greatest highlights in my life was rehearsing and performing the Bach Double Concerto for Two Violins six years ago with my orchestra, The Northern Westchester Symphony. You both played all three movements with such elegance and elan, and were such a pleasure to collaborate with. The rapport between Sandor and yourself was always magical. My orchestra and I were very lucky to be a part of that memorable occasion.

Sandor was a great person and a passionate musician whose whole life was centered around music. His life's journeys were most inspirational to hear about when he spoke of them. The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra was very lucky to have him as such a longtime valuable member. I know that he will be greatly missed in that outstanding Ensemble and Institution.

Always treasure the many memories that Sandor and yourself have shared and experienced together, Joyce. I know that you will. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Sincerely,

Gabriel Tevan

Condolence: Dear Joyce,
With much sadness we heard the news of Sandy's sudden passing.
We are happy that he was able to live such a full life, doing what he loved most; play the violin.
We have fond memories of the times we spend together in your house and in ours, here in the Netherlands.
As family we once connected many years ago. Now life without him being part of it seems unreal.
Dear Joyce we wish you strengt for the difficult times ahead and hope to see you soon.
Much love, Heidi and Wilmar Minke

Condolence: Mrs. B. I miss you very much. I regret not making a trip to Bronxville earlier.
I wish I could hear Mr. Balint's beautiful and touching music one more time.
I cannot imagine him not playing in the pit next time I go to the MET.
I loved seeing you two play together beautifully.

The precious days in Mystic. Having ice cream, playing concerts, enjoying the pool,
the boat ride.
Thank you for being my American parents.
Mr. B, thank you for showing me how to love music.
Mrs. B, you are the kind of teacher I dream to be.

I am leaving for Japan tomorrow with my two daughters.
I am so sorry I cannot make it.
My whole family is terribly sadden by the news.

I will be back in the fall so I would really love to see you then.

With love, Mizuki Yamanaka

him countless times, and we had the upmost respect for his
musicianship and
professionalism. he will be great missed by us! Unfortunately Ming and I are traveling in Asia, we would not be able to make it to the service. We are sending our deepest condolence to Joyce and the family at this difficult time, our prayer is with you!
