Deacon Ernest F. Salomone, 87, longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on Jan. 12, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Nina, devoted father of Laura Allen and her husband Robert, Steven Salomone and his wife Susan and Christopher Salomone. Dear brother of Louis and the late Jack and Michael Salomone, Cherished grandfather of Zachary Gershman, Adam, Andrew, Dylan and the late Justin Salomone and Anthony and Daniel Salomone. Deacon Ernest served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1975 he was ordained as a Deacon after his studies at St. Joseph's Seminary and has served the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Scarsdale ever since. Ernest and his brothers operated the family Real Estate Business, Salomone and Company in the Bronx started by their father Saverio Salomone. Visiting at the Westchester Funeral Home,Inc., Eastchester, Sunday from 4-7 and Monday from 2-4, 7-9PM. Mass of Chrisitian Burial, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale, Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10AM followed by entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum In lieu of flowers the family strongly requests donations be made in memory of his grandson, Justin to Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, www.drugcrisisinourbackyard.org.
