Carmine Greco
I came to know Carmine when I became President of the Eastchester Italian-American Citizens club.
Carmine served on our Board throughout the entire 7 years during which I was President.
Carmine was aggressive and tenacious when he felt strongly about an issue but supportive and understanding when it came to the welfare of our Club.
I came to become good friends with Carmine. Because I was a College Professor and off in the summer, Carmine talked me into working Security for two days a week one year with the Mt Vernon Money Center - his employer after his police career.
One day he invited me to lunch at Knuckleheads on Sandford Blvd. We had a very nice lunch and when they brought him the check I politely said “Let me get it” and Carmine’s response was OK and he handed me the check. You know that this example is right on the money.
Carmine was one of the go to people in the Italian Club. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
