Condolences

Condolence From: Frank Palmieri and the Westchester Sail and Power Squadron
Condolence: Marie was a long standing member of the Westchester Sail and Power Squadron (WSPS) and a Life Member. Her husband, Andrew, and later Marie herself, were Past Commanders of the Squadron . Marie held a number of positions on the Executive Board through the years including Historian. She was also Editor and an active contributor to the WSPS newsletter, the Current Set and Drift with a regular column called “Marie’s Galley”. Later, when she could not attend squadron events due to illness, she would donate items to help ensure their success. All WSPS members that worked with Marie knew her as a generous, lively, engaging person whom we all loved and will be greatly missed.

Condolence From: Phil and Mances Kuczma
Condolence: Marie was a most vibrant, energetic and magnetic person. Everyone was attracted to her smile, her encouraging words and her fondness for the people around her. She will be missed but never forgotten by the many she blessed with her presence. God bless you Marie.

Condolence From: Lee (Luis) Brechner
Condolence: Marie was far more than my teacher for three years...she was my good friend. I've carried fond memories of her through all these decades, and her passing won't dim those memories. Hasta la vista, dear lady.

Condolence From: Barbara Lutz Brim
Condolence: Although I never had a class with Miss Carrera, she was always a very likable and visible presence in our school. Everyone loved her. All teachers should be as dedicated as she was.
