Madeline Petrillo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born on July 21, 1923 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Maria and Antonio Giordano. She is survived by her loving daughters Deborah Martirano and husband Christian, and Karen Quito and husband Julio, her grandchildren Anthony Fortugno (Linda), Kristin Fortugno, Jeff Martirano (Lizzy), Stephen Martirano, and Christian Martirano, and her great grandchildren Jack and Olivia Fortugno and Giovanni and Michael Martirano. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Marie and Francis Giordano and her nieces and nephews for whom she adored. Madeline was pre-deceased by her brothers Michael and Anthony and her sisters Gilda and Vandy.
Madeline loved to entertain and had a passion for cooking and baking. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and watching the Yankees play ball. She was truly an angel if ever there was one. She lived a life full of service to her family and numerous friends, always taking care of those she loved with her warm, gentle way. She was loved deeply by all who had the great fortune to know her. The family will receive friends at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester on Tuesday, March 7th, 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8th at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Tuckahoe. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
