Filomena was a resident of Eastchester, New York for nearly 99 years. Since April 2015, she was residing at Sarah Neuman Nursing Home in Mamaroneck, New York. She was a graduate of Eastchester High School, and after graduating she worked as a hairdresser. She married Mario Jack Vecciarelli of Eastchester on June 1, 1946. Mario predeceased her in 2003. Filomena and her beloved husband, Mario were married for nearly 57 years at the time of his death. Filomena is survived by two children, (a daughter and a son and their spouses): Paula Degatano and her husband Al Degatano of Eastchester, NY, and John Paul Vecciarelli, Sr. and his wife Jane Hulton Vecciarelli of Gaithersburg, MD. She cherished and loved her six grandchildren: Paulette Salcito (husband Michael Salcito), John Paul Vecciarelli, Jr. (wife Janine Vecciarelli), Angela Degatano, Jane Marie Hall (husband Ryan Hall), Michael Vecciarelli (wife Elisabeth Vecciarelli), and Amanda Fazio (husband Michael Fazio); and 9 great grandchildren: Jack Salcito, Samantha Salcito, Gabrielle Vecciarelli, Dylan John Vecciarelli, Owen Hall, Lauren Hall, Thomas Mario Vecciarelli, Julia Vecciarelli, and Jionni Vecciarelli.
Filomena loved her life and her family, and her passion was cooking for family, relatives, and friends. She enthusiastically cooked right up until she became a resident of Sarah Neuman Nursing Home earlier this year. White at the Sarah Neuman facility, Filomena made many new friends, enjoyed getting her hair and nails done frequently, and participated in many of the parties, events, and activities provided by the Nursing Home. She was also an avid New York Yankees fan.
