Some years back, we had a family get together in MIchigan at Christmas time and Aunt Jean was visiting also. She would tell us stories of her and Uncle Frank, their early years together, their restaurant, places they visited, but the story I'll never forget was about chicken soup. They were newlyweds and she was trying to impress her husband with freshly made chicken soup. It was so flavorful, just perfect. When he came home from work, she had to strain the soup of the bones and chunks of vegetables. She put the colander in the sink and slowly poured the soup.... down the drain. She forgot to put a pot under the colander. As she told the story, she and all of us were laughing so hard, we were crying and she had to stop sometimes to wipe her eyes and catch her breath to continue.
We had such a good time with her then staying up to the wee hours playing games and talking.
