Obituary for Ruth Doyle (Peters)

Ruth  Doyle (Peters)
Ruth Peters Doyle, a resident of Bronxville, New York for sixty-five years, died on October 26, 2015 at Meadowview at The Wartburg in Mt. Vernon, NY. She was 92.
Daughter of Philip Pavey Peters and Elda Beary Peters, Ruth was born on June 6, 1923 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She was a 1945 graduate of Skidmore College. She was married to Dr. Henry W. Doyle, Jr. of Bronxville, NY for fifty-three wonderful years until Henry passed away in 1998. She is survived by son Rick of Atlanta, GA, son Peter of Bronxville, NY, daughter Cathy Denniston of Amherst, NH, and daughter Tia Colangelo from Wilmington, NC and Waltham, VT, as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Ruey, as her family and many friends affectionately called her, devoted her extraordinary life to her family, her community, and her church. Among her many activities, she was a member of the Consistory of The Reformed Church of Bronxville and the Bronxville School Board, and served as a training volunteer at Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care for 11 years, as well as a volunteer at the New York Botanical Garden.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Service of Celebration and Praise at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at The Reformed Church of Bronxville, 180 Pondfield Road, Bronxville, NY. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Edwards Room next to the sanctuary. The internment at the Reformed Church of Bronxville Columbarium will be private.
