Obituary for Joan G. Guarnera
Joan Guarnera, 82, of White Plains, NY, passed away on September 27.
Joan was born in New York City, grew up in New Rochelle and Miami and lived in Eastchester for more than 50 years. Joan was an entrepreneur who launched a coffee delivery service, sold women’s accessories and was a Long Term Care insurance agent. Joan was a thoughtful friend and neighbor who enjoyed buying and giving gifts to the children and grandchildren of her many friends, neighbors and colleagues. Joan was a runner and completed the New York City Marathon in 1979. She enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, theatre, volunteering at local schools and spending time at her lake house in the Adirondack mountains with her husband and their beloved dog Jake.
Joan was preceded in death by her father Bernard Rosenfield, mother and step-father Lucille and Mortimer Wiley, and sister Carole Rosenfield. She is survived by her husband Bob Guarnera, brother Jason Rosenfield, daughter Amy Blumenfield, son and daughter-in-law Barry and Jodi Blumenfield, grandchildren Emily Blumenfield, May Blumenfield and Rob Jeffrey and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
