Obituary for Frank T. Lynch

Frank T. Lynch, a lifelong resident of Eastchester, New York passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2023 at the age of 80.

Frank was born in New Rochelle on July 25th, 1943 to Francis Lynch Sr. and Mary Connelly. He graduated from both Immaculate Conception School and Eastchester High School. Frank joined the Navy in 1962, where he proudly served his country during the Cold War aboard the USS Bristol (DD-857). He was honorably discharged in 1966.

Frank continued his lifetime of service as he became a police officer and served with the Westchester County Parkway Police. During that time, he held a position as PBA President, and was a member of both the New York State Federation of Police and the Police Emerald Society of Westchester. Frank’s innate leadership skills, calm nature, and talent made him a respected member of the law enforcement community who mentored countless officers and was a friend to many.

Frank was also an instructor at the Westchester County Police Academy where he taught EVOC. He ended his career in the Communications Unit where his experience, steady voice, and reassuring nature guided colleagues over the radio during difficult situations.

Frank retired in 2002 to continue his newest job, his true calling, of loving grandfather. During his retirement, Frank enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading many books to build on his vast knowledge of history, spending time at Camp Waubeeka in Copake NY, making everyone laugh with his incredible stories, and spending time with his family.

Frank married the love of his life, Marion, (Terry Heydet) in 1968. They built a beautiful life together with three children and six grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends during their 55 year marriage.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Francis Lynch Sr. and Mary Connelly, as well as his sister Maryanne Fowler.

He is survived by his loving wife Terry; his children Katherine Mary and her husband John, Frank III and his wife Michele, and Kevin and his wife Eileen. Frank is also survived by his six grandchildren: Allison, Sean, Delia, Teagan, Cora, and McKenna, as well as his brother Rick Lynch and his wife Nadine.

Frank was a fierce fighter, steadfast patriot, and a true lover of his country. He will be sorely missed by those he touched, and his memory and impact will be remembered by many for years to come.

Services were held privately by the family.
