Obituary for Edward Ferrante

Erasmo (Edward) Ferrante passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2022. On May 17, 1941, he was born to Giacchino and Antonina Ferrante in New York City and grew up in Manhattan and the Bronx. On October 16, 1965 he married the love of his life, Jerilyn Reinhardt. They were happily married for 56 years and together, they raised four children. Edward graduated from Baruch College in 1971 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and was proud to be the first member of his family to receive a college degree.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963 until 1969.

Edward was a devoted and faithful husband who deeply loved his wife and was the proud father of his four children. He loved listening and dancing to the oldies, enjoyed action and sci-fi movies, and was fascinated by all things scientific. He also loved discussing politics and was deeply patriotic. Edward was a friendly soul who loved to meet and talk to people. He was kind to everyone he met and regarded all others as equals. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church for 42 years and he adored animals, especially his dogs, Lola, Cody and Max.

Edward went on to become a loving grandfather to six and continued his love and devotion to his family through his grandchildren. His family will forever be grateful for his unconditional love and for the traditional and Christian values that he instilled in them. They will always remember the many vacations, dinners, fishing trips and laughs that they shared.

Edward is survived by his wife, Jerilyn and his sons Steven, Michael (Rosa) and Matthew (Diana) and his daughter Suzanne D’Arco (John). He is also survived by his brother Salvatore Ferrante and his sister Laura Dorvick and his grandchildren Nicholas, Antonio, Devin, Valentina Ferrante; Gianna and John D’Arco.
