Catherine Tierney died on December 2 after an heroic health battle. She was born in Tuckahoe/raised in Eastchester and attended ICS and St Clare Academy before leaving home for 25 years with the Daughters of St Paul. Afterward, she had a varied career, serving at a home for the unwed, as a bus driver for special needs children, at a medical insurance appointment company, a wedding dress show, and finally retiring from the NYS education system at BOCES. Catherine had a generous heart and kindly spirit, a favorite of all who knew her. She is survived by two of the four siblings of Edward and Cecelia Tierney: Maureen Melton of Annandale, VA, and Edward Tierney (Susan) of Seattle and their daughter, Lisa Lee (Mark), and grandson Jake; cousins Bernard Collins (Diane) of Long Island, and Catherine Gorman of Warminster, PA.

The family will receive friends at the Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main Street, Eastchester, on Sunday, December 10th from 3-7. The service will be nearby at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:30am on Monday, December 11th. Internment following at Holy Mount Cemetery, Eastchester.
