Barbara Clayr Caloia was born on March 15, 1939, the only child of Evelyn
and Albert John Caloia. She was raised in Yonkers, N.Y, and after
graduating from the Yonkers High School of Commerce; Barbara began a
long and successful career as a purchasing agent at Union Carbide of
Danbury, CT, until 1993 when she retired. Living in Lewes, Delaware for
many years, she enjoyed walks along the beach and visiting the local
restaurants with family and friends. At home, she could be found bundled
up with her favorite throw watching Fox News. Barbara loved to travel and
she enjoyed spoiling her two furry kids Kayla and Tumbleweed. Barbara’s
true passion and joy were her family and friends – all of whom cherish the
light and laughter that Barbara brought to every conversation and the love
she bestowed on every relationship.
Barbara’s personality and undeniable warmth earned her numerous friends
throughout her lifetime including her dear friend Susan Hublitz, who sadly
predeceased her. She will be missed by her many close friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at Westchester Funeral home on Sunday
November 19, from 10:30-12:15pm – with services beginning at 11:30am.
