Obituary for Ann E. Dorrian (Gill)

Ann Gill Dorrian, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving children.

She was born on November 5, 1938, in New York City to Francis and Josephine Gill. She attended Villa Maria High School in the Bronx and St. Vincent’s Hospital of Nursing in Manhattan.

In 1958, Ann Gill married Joseph Dorrian and they had five children. Ann worked as a nurse at several hospitals in lower Westchester County after they family moved to Scarsdale and especially her time as assistant head nurse on the OB-GYN unit at White Plains Hospital. She and Joe were long-time members of Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck and she was a proud member of the Ladies Niners group. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.

Ann is survived by four of her children (Laura Albertson, Mary-Jo McAvey and her husband Vince, Patrick, and Timothy), nine grandchildren (Brody, Casey, Riley, and Murphy Dorrian; Kaitlin Albertson and Colleen Armitage and her husband Forrest; and Vincent, Brian, and Andrew McAvey), and two great grandchildren (Emma Dorrian and Finley Armitage). She is predeceased by her parents Josephine and Francis Gill, siblings Josephine Nelson, Francis Gill, Mary Kerhli, and Eileen Grogan, and her husband, Joseph Dorrian Sr. and son Joseph Dorrian Jr.

There will be a funeral mass on Monday August 2, 2021, at 10am at Holy Family in New Rochelle to celebrate her life.
