Obituary for William J. Wiegelman, Sr.

William Wiegelman, Sr. of Tuckahoe, NY passed away on Friday, May 12 at the age of 92. Bill was born on October 15,1930 to Robert and Bridget Wiegelman in Riverdale, NY. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. After the war, he was employed by Continental Insurance Company for 42 years. On May 20, 1956, he married the love of his life Margaret (Germano), who predeceased him in July, 2022. He was very proud of the fact that they were married for 66 years. They settled in Tuckahoe, where they raised five children. Bill is survived by his children, Anne Marie Reid, Susan (Peter) Day, Maureen (Randy) Castro, Diane (Shane) Kenny, and Bill (Alison), and 8 grandchildren, Caitlyn (Brian), Daniel, Mike, Olivia, Will, Sean, Nancy and Matthew. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Robert, and his grandson, Tyler. Bill is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Ann Bogart and her husband, his best buddy, Howie, nieces Margie, Elaine and Patty, nephew Larry, and cousins Mary Ellen, Katie, Eileen, Margaret and Patty. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main Street, Eastchester, NY 10709. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 10:30 am at Assumption Church, 100 Pleasant Avenue, Tuckahoe, NY 10707.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bill’s memory to the Eastchester Veteran’s Association, 433 White Plains Road, Eastchester, NY 10709.
