Obituary for Whitney Lincoln Lane

Whitney L. Lane of Yorktown Heights NY, formerly of Ossining and Crestwood, NY died on (March 28, 2021) at the age of_83. He was born on February 17, 1938 in Cambridge, MA to John W. Lane and Bertice L. (Taché) Lane. Husband of Elizabeth B. Lane, he also leaves behind Stepdaughters, Elisse Heisey Geberth and Rachel A. Heisey, and his Daughter, Kimberly A. Lane from a previous marriage to Carolyn A. Lane. His Son, Craig A. Lane predeceased him. He is also survived by a Brother, Bradford W. Lane, who resides in Bedford, NY.
Whitney was active in the Boy Scouts, having been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and graduated from the Hackley School in Tarrytown. He then went to study Art, Design, and Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University and the School of Visual Arts. This was followed by duty with the United States Marine Corps, Semper Fi, where he was Unit Photographer. He later worked as an Art Director for 10 years in the 1960’s for various Advertising Agencies in New York.
It was in 1971, that he opened his own business, Lane Photography Studio in Ossining. It was there that he enjoyed photographing hundreds of families. In addition, he did advertising and corporate assignments that took him to different parts of the world, including underwater. Besides his passion for photography, he was an avid Scuba Diver and Motorcyclist, having toured around Europe, both which he started doing in 1962.
Whitney will be remembered And he was always thankful for those who loved him and for those whom he had loved. He was a parishioner at Yorktown Vineyard Community Church in Yorktown Heights, NY and earlier at the Asbury Church in Crestwood, NY.
