Obituary for Vivian C Pumillo (Cantatore)

Vivian C Pumillo (Cantatore)
Vivian C. Pumillo, loving wife of Francis J. Pumillo Jr., died on March 29, 2021. Vivian was 85 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (Pumillo) Mittan, her son, Paschal Pumillo, her four grandchildren, Brianna Pumillo, Sebastian Pumillo, Serena Pumillo and Shaylee Mittan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her eldest son, Francis J. Pumillo III, her brother, Robert "Bobby" Cantatore, and her nephew, Robert Cantatore, Jr.

Vivian retired in 1999 from the NYC Public School system, where she taught 1st and 2nd grade for many years. Vivian was a dedicated teacher who was well-loved by her students.

During her early retirement years, Vivian enjoyed traveling with her husband, Frank. They had the privilege of visiting Europe, Australia, the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Nova Scotia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Canada. Vivian looked forward to her trips to Atlantic City and 7 trips to Las Vegas, where she loved to play the slot machines and see the shows.

Vivian was an avid reader and a skilled Italian cook and baker. She loved to draw and paint and do crafts with her grandchildren. In healthier times, she took exercise classes in Kickboxing and Tai Chi.

Vivian adored her grandchildren, as they adored her. She had a vivacious personality and a great sense of humor. Her smile could light up a room.

Vivian will live forever in our hearts and memories.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 1, 2021, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Eastchester.
