Obituary for Thomas D. Weede Jr.

Thomas D. Weede Jr.
Thomas D. Weede, Jr., 61, of Mount Vernon, NY died on July 3, 2019. Beloved husband of Julia Reul Weede. Cherished father of Cara Short. Dear brother of Barb (Keith) Falkenhagen, Greta (Mike) Compton, and the late Steve Weede. Brother-in-law of Tracey Wallace Weede, David and Jennifer Reul Marr, David and Renata Reul Bowers. Son-in-law of David and Betty Reul. Deeply loved by his nieces and nephews.
Born on February 15, 1958 in Grayling, MI, Tom was a beloved son to the late Lucinda Smith Weede and Thomas D. Weede, Sr. who was his high school football coach and biggest fan.All who knew Tom Weede knew a man whose word, intentions and actions were good and fair. He was a loyal friend, a trusted colleague, an equitable leader, an honorable family man. Many said what they loved most about him was how much he loved Julie. Lover of history and those who forged it, Tom was an avid reader who absorbed nearly everything he read (to the great consternation of anyone who challenged him in Trivial Pursuit). His humor was dry and swift, his cooking exquisite, and with Julie by his side he was as at home in the city as he was at the cabin and on the water. In all he did, and to those who walked alongside him, Tom Weede was a good man who lived and taught integrity. He loved the words of the great Billy Graham: “One day you’ll hear that died. Don’t you believe it. On that day I’ll be more alive than ever before! I’ve just changed addresses.”The family will receive friends at the Village Lutheran Church, 172 White Plains Road, Bronxville, NY Saturday, July 13, 2019, 9:30- 11:30 am, followed by a 12:00pm Funeral Service, also at Village Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to either the Starfish Initiative , 6958 Hillsdale Court, Indianapolis IN 46250, or Jansen Memorial Hospice , 670 Post Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
