Obituary for Thomas Mathew DeRosa

On the evening of February 27th we lost our beloved husband and father, Thomas. Tom was born in the Bronx, New York to Concetta and Mathew DeRosa on October 3rd. 1942. The family eventually moved to Pelham Manor, New York, where he attended Pelham Memorial High School. After graduation, he went to New York University School of Engineering, where he met his future wife, Joan Mirsky. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1965. Soon after graduation he was called into military service. He was a 2nd lieutenant and went to Korea for 13 months. During his time of service he became a 1st lieutenant. In 1967, Tom and Joan married and had two sons, Thomas and Michael. He is also a daddy to our dog, Brandy.
He spent his whole life running International Metal Specialties and MTJ Industries as a mechanical engineer. To all his many friends and colleagues, we thank you for your prayers and condolences. He is now at peace in the hands of God.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 18th 10am-2pm at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. A prayer service will be held at 1pm. Military Honors and interment of cremains to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Rosewood Building. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org.
