Obituary for Thomas N. Capolino

Thomas Nicholas Capolino, Tommy, passed away peacefully on February 4th at home in Eastchester N.Y. after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his wife and family who never left his side.
He is survived by his beloved wife Michele Leone Piliero Capolino, his devoted children Elena Killeen (Christopher), Dr. Thomas Capolino (Eva Herczegh), Jennifer Liberti (Joseph), Vincent Piliero, Korynn Pecchioni (James). He was predeceased by his wife Carol. Tommy cherished all of his grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew Killeen, Christopher and Cameron Johnstone, Flora Capolino, and Andrew Pecchioni. He was the loving brother of Amy Auer and cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tommy was born on January 13, 1938 in Long Island City, N.Y. to parents Francis and Mary (nee Marotta) and had three brothers, Louis, Anthony and Joseph Capolino.
As a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, NYPD and a registered first responder Tommy was dedicated to public service. His later professional career spanned across Logistics and Storage, Security and Energy Service industries.
While growing up in East Harlem and Brooklyn Tommy later lived in Jackson Heights, Syosset and Manhattan. He was an avid sports enthusiast and an accomplished multiple NYC Marathon athlete. He enjoyed skiing, boating, golf and especially horseback riding not to mention his love of boxing and football. But most of all Tommy enjoyed these activities in the company of his family, friends and extended family members.
His Family expresses sincere gratitude to Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam VNA for their attentive and professional care and compassion.
