Susan Grace Kaestner, 75, of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. Born in Bronxville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jean (Benedict) Kaestner.
Susan studied liberal arts at Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT, then continued her education, proudly completing her studies and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Pace University in Westchester, NY.
She began her career in NY as a medical secretary for physicians’ practices then moved into administration at IBM for many years until she followed her family to RI. Once in RI, Sue worked for a private company then turned her administrative skills to the medical field at Roger Williams Hospital until her retirement in 2018.

She is survived by her partner of 40 years, Art Pascuzzi, and Art’s brother Joel, sister Paula and nephew Joel, Sue’s sister, Barbara Curry and husband Piers, sister, Judy Gootkind and partner Leonard Cuoco, nephew, Robert Kunz and wife Betsy, niece Allyn Jones, niece Leah and Brooks Gootkind/Juhring, niece Bryna and Lee Gootkind/Farrington, many loving cousins, and great-nieces and nephew all of whom she considered her children.

Sue’s gardens are a testament to her love of beautiful flowers and plants. All through the years, her talent for design and excellent taste kept her home beautifully appointed. During these past few weeks, Sue was an inspiration to all with her courage, spirit, and grace. Her namesake and her essence live on, as our one and only, Susan ‘Gracious’ Kaestner.

Her Funeral Service will be held on August 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main Street, Eastchester, NY 10709.
