Stephen V. Heinzinger, a longtime resident of Eastchester, passed away on March 17, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born on December 18, 1924 to the late Benedict and Mary (Cunningham) Heinzinger in White Plains, NY. Stephen was employed as a Police Officer for the Village of Scarsdale and retired from the force as a Sergeant he then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Scarsdale until his retirement. After retirement he enjoyed spending his time "hanging out" at Mill Road Service Station helping his Son- in- Law Tony Allison. Stephen was a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII. He is survived by his wife Winfred Hunter Heinzinger, children, Stephen Heinz (Bonnie), Arthur Heinzinger (Denise), Therese Allison (Tony), Ann Mariani, Barbara Heinzinger, Stepchildren, Pamela Hunter, Virginia Hunter Coupe (Rick), Lois Liberati (Daniel), Patrick Hunter and Charles Hunter (Bernadette). Stephen is also survived by 9 grandchildren,8 step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Along with his parents he was predeceased by two daughters, Joan Heinzinger and Elizabeth Bard, sisters, Lillian Champlin, Agnes Adam, Eva Adilleta, brothers, Edward Heinzinger, Benedict Heinzinger and Robert Heinzinger. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 4 - 8 pm at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., EASTCHESTER. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2019, 9:30 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. Interment to follow at the Holy Mount Cemetery.
