Obituary for Stanley Willner

Stanley Willner a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend passed on the morning of May 14, 2020, at the age of 93. Stan was born on March 8, 1927 in the Bronx, New York. He was predeceased by his father Harry, brother Murray and beloved Aunt Lily. He was a World War II veteran and a lifelong resident of New York with a medical practice in the east Bronx spanning 40 years. In 1996 Stan was presented with a ceremony and Kehilah award after 35 years of providing service to that community. Stan was a special person with a strong sense of family and a wickedly funny sense of humor. Often he would be hysterically laughing before he could finish the telling of a joke. He had a great love of classical music and great apes, and graduated with a degree in zoology from the Univ. of California. He continued on to medical school at the Univ. of Rochester, graduating in 1954. Stan is survived by his wife Rose, one month shy of their 51st anniversary. As well he has left his daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law James and sons Douglas and Allan. His grandchildren Samantha, Carlie, Irina, Zachary and Joshua will miss him very much. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and patients. His quiet kindnesses will never be forgotten. Stan will be in our hearts and we will celebrate his life in the telling of his stories. May God watch over him and may he be at peace with strains of an aria playing in the background bringing eternal rest.
