Obituary for Sheila J. Moore

On Friday, May 8th, Sheila Moore, beloved mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend, passed away at the age of 80. Sheila was born on June 15th, 1939, in New York City, to Morris and Pearl Meisner. Sheila was a former teacher’s aide with the New York City school system and longtime volunteer with the Westchester County Elections Board.

Sheila’s loving personality, cheerful charisma and warm embrace, touched everyone she met. She had the most positive view on life and always the life of the party. She loved people and could and did talk with anyone, in any situation. She focused on a person’s strengths, and what made them energized, not on what was missing. Mom was compassionate and warm to everyone - even if she just met them. Sheila dearly loved her extended family and friends. Above all else, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Morris, her mother, Pearl and her brother Ronald Meisner. She is survived by her sons, daughters- in-law and her grandchildren: Robert Berman and his wife Carol (Porter), and their daughter Madhura; Richard Berman and his wife Stacey (Morgan), and their daughter Drew and son, Jake. She is also survived by her many cousins, extended family and friends.
Memorial plans will be forthcoming and, as per her wishes it will be a celebration of her life. Online condolences can be given at www.westchesterfuneralhome.com
