Obituary for Salvatore S. Chiaramonte

Salvatore S. Chiaramonte of Tuckahoe NY, passed away on March 16, 2021 at the age of 90.
Sal was born on August 19, 1930 in the Bronx, NY to Elena (Tripodo) and Joseph Chiaramonte.
He obtained a degree in business from Fordham University where he played baseball all four years while attending Fordham. Sal was a starting pitcher on the team and was named to the NCAA District 2 All-Star baseball team making him the first Fordham baseball player in their history to receive this award. Sal was inducted into the Fordham Hall of Fame in 1985 for his outstanding baseball record and career.
Sal was proud to serve in the United States Air Force from 1952-1954 prior to beginning his career in the banking industry. Sal also was a tireless worker, working two jobs to provide for his wife, Marianna and their seven children.
Sal married Marianna Sapia in 1953 and were blessed to share 67 years of marriage together. He was a devout Catholic and dedicated family man. His love for his family was his driving force and it showed in all aspects of his life.
Sal is survived by his wife, Marianna, and seven children, Dr. Joseph Chiaramonte (Rosanna), Paul S. Chiaramonte (Lucia), Elena Campion (Michael), Marianna DeStefano (Gregory), Theresa Carroll (Andrew), Vincent Chiaramonte (Robbin) and Christina Chiaramonte along with 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 24, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 25, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St. Eugene''s R.C. Church, Yonkers. Entombment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
