Salvatore Cavaretta, 92
Eastchester resident, Salvatore Cavaretta passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at White Plains Hospital in Westchester County, New York.
Mr. Cavaretta was born on December 5th, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Gasper and Vita Cavaretta.
From an early age, Sal developed a real talent for singing and became an avid Frank Sinatra fan. One of his favorite songs was “Pennies from Heaven”, which he would often perform at various family gatherings.
Sal supported his family by working two jobs, driving a truck during the week and waiting tables on the weekends. Sal and his beloved wife Ann (dec. 2016) of 69 years eventually moved to Queens, where they started a family.
Sal had such an enthusiasm for life and enjoyed shooting pool, nice cars and cruising around on his bicycle. Selflessly, Sal was also involved in his community church, The Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarsdale, where he served for many years as an usher after moving from Queens to Eastchester NY, where he lived for 25 years.
He also loved to watch his son Stephen play guitar while performing at one of his gigs in Manhattan, and dancing with his daughter Suzanne whenever they had the chance.
Sal is survived by his son Stephen, daughter Suzanne Losey and her husband Pat, granddaughters Jennifer Losey, Vita DeQuatro and her husband Darren, great grandsons Jaxson and Cameron DeQuatro, his niece Denise Esposito and her husband Frank.
A special thanks to Joyce Amorah and Alecia Small from Azor agency for their unconditional love and care for Sal the past 6 years.
Due to the ongoing fight with the novel coronavirus, we are unable to say goodbye the way we would have hoped. Keep smiling Dad, we love you, rest in peace.
