Ruth Maag, of the Crestwood section of Yonkers, NY passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2020 at the age of 79. She was born June 29, 1940 in Bronxville, NY to Willy and Emma Hengst. Ruth was the wife of the late Hans Maag, and loving mother of Rick (Carol) and Cindy (Evan) Kim. "Oma" is survived by her 6 beloved grandchildren, Jamie, Matt, Joe, Jack, Hayley and Madison, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Hans, her parents Emma and Willy Hengst, and her siblings Helen Armstrong and Bill Hengst. Ruth was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and Wood Secretarial School in White Plains. Her career spanned 60+ years as a Bank Teller, Legal Assistant in a local Bronxville law office and Office Manager at a Tuckahoe real estate office. Ruth touched innumerable lives in big and small ways with her kindness, her care, her faith, and her humor. She will be missed and her memory cherished by all who knew her. Her passions included dedicating her time and heart to her grandchildren, Asbury Methodist Church, neighbors, anyone in need, and a little at the casino with family and friends.
