Rudolph (Rudy) Winter departed this life on November 5, 2022,at The Osborn in Rye, New York. He was born and raised on the upper east side of New York City to Margaret (Regina) and Rudolph Winter, the youngest of their two children. After the passing of Rudy’s father at age 37, his mother remarried John Bajcar. Together they raised Rudy and his sister, Barbara and John’s children (Rudy’s step siblings): John Bajcar, Helen Damn, and George Bajcar.
Rudy was a Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer with government clearance for employment at E2VCorp. in Elmsford, New York; a company that designs, develops, and manufactures systems and components in healthcare, life sciences, space, transportation, defense and security and industrial markets. He headed the northeastern operation of the company and traveled frequently to the headquarters in England, and other offices located in Toronto and California. He mentored many new hires with whom he maintained close friendships, and those friends continue to hold Rudy in the highest esteem.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Winter of Tuckahoe, New York, his son Paul Winter (Janelle), his grandchildren, Paulie, Michael, Bella, Tyler and Killian, all of Shelton, CT. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Winter, of New York City, brother-in-law Joseph Gurrado (Mary Ann) and their two children Joseph and Michael of Queens, New York. Rudy will be missed by many friends, associates, and members of the dance community.
Rudy loved life and demonstrated courage while battling all his illnesses. He loved music and attending concerts and festivals. He liked dancing, dining, movies, traveling and he especially enjoyed JAMES BROWN! He was an accomplished dancer of ballroom, zydeco, and swing. Despite his suffering, nothing could keep him from enjoying the life he wished to live.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Rudy’s life will be held on Monday, November 7 at the Westchester Funeral Home in Tuckahoe from 4pm-8pm. The interment will be on Tuesday, November 8 at 12 noon at the Holy Mount Cemetery on California Road (corner of White Plains Road) in Eastchester, New York.
