Obituary for Rose G. Willner (Badler)

Rose Green Willner was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and colleague. She passed quietly at home on the evening of February 28, 2022, surrounded by family. Rose was born in Boston, Mass on August 19, 1931.
Raised in the Bronx, New York she was the youngest of four with three adoring older brothers. She is predeceased by her husband Seymour, father of her children, husband Stanley of
50 years and her son Allan. Rose dedicated herself to a career in education. For over 25 years she was with the Ardsley school district, earning her doctorate in education from Fordham Univ. in 1990. Starting as a guidance counselor at Ardsley High School, she became principal of both Concord Road Elementary School and Ardsley Middle School. At the end of her tenure with the district the Concord Road School library was named in her honor. Never one to sit still for long she resumed her career for another ten years as Director of Student Teachers at Iona College. Rose was a well loved and respected colleague and valued each and every one of her friendships. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. As well she adored her extended family and never forgot a niece or nephew’s birthday and always remembered everyone’s anniversary. She enjoyed travel, classic movies, the ballet, opera and was a long time patron of Broadway.
Rose is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law James and granddaughter Irina. She left her son Douglas and grandsons Zachary and Joshua. She will be missed by her granddaughters Samantha and Carlie. She will be in our hearts and memories forever. She will be overjoyed to sit at the table again with her mother, brothers and husband. May God watch over her and give her eternal peace.
