Rose M.  Servodidio
Rose M. Servodidio passed away on April 18, 2020. Rose, a life-long resident of the Eastchester area, was a language teacher of Spanish and Italian at Pelham High School and Pelham Middle School. She was a graduate of Fordham University and attained two Master’s degrees in language, including an advanced degree from the esteemed language school at Middlebury College. In recognition of her language skills, Rose was inducted into the Italian and Spanish Honor Societies.
Rose prepared literally hundreds of students for the challenge of college by giving them a strong background in languages along with the study techniques needed for a rigorous curriculum. She was respected for her strong work ethic, knowledge, and a genuine and compassionate interest in her students.
Prior to her teaching degree, Rose had a varied business background that included working for National Bank of Westchester which was merged into Chase Bank and working as a representative for the New York Telephone Company that was formerly part of ATandT.
Rose enjoyed attending seminars in New York City that related to her language skills and that promoted Italian and Spanish literature. Dedicated to her family, she was a caregiver for her parents, Pasquale and Caterina, who predeceased her. Her siblings Mary, Loretta, Francis, Pasquale, and Msgr. John also predeceased her.
Rose had been active in the Church of Assumption in Tuckahoe throughout her life. As a teenager, she took part in religious processions representing various religious figures and this involvement continued throughout her life.
Rose is survived by her sister Louise Smith and her brother Michael Servodidio and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was sincerely interested in the lives of her younger relatives.
Due to the present circumstances, there will be a private graveside service. A Memorial Mass and a gathering commemorating Rose’s life will be held at a future date. You may honor Rose by donating to a charity of your choice in her name.
