When I look for words on such a sad day to describe my godfather, I say, “WOW”, godfather, that's a good one. Then I use words like fantastic man, all around great guy, incredibly smart, super sharp, business leader, but then I land on the best word, hero!!!!

We all have heroes; someone like Batman, Superman, someone from the Game of Thrones or perhaps a world-class athlete. But I am talking about a real life hero, someone that whenever you come in contact with them you walk away feeling enlightened, smarter, inspired and feeling great about everything. What I realize today is that great HEROES make you feel great when you interact with them.

My Uncle Bob did just that, as a true hero to so many!!!!!

Thank you for your service to our great country, thank you for being a role model for everyone in our family, thank you for inspiring me to seek a higher education and to have a business career.

I will continue to try to be half the man that you have been.

I join with Charlotte and her family in grieving Bob's death. I got to know Bob a little when he was a patient in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center. I was impressed by his patience, kindness and the manner in which he so bravely endured his unforeseen injury. I was touched by the manner in which Charlotte and the remainder of his family rallied around him and did such a beautiful job of standing by him to the end. Hearing the lovely things they said about Bob of which I did not know, helped me appreciate him all the more. May God go gently with Bob's family in these times. Thank you all for your gracious support for him and for all of us who labor in the TICU. Blessings and peace.
